THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Penang Malaysian Cuisine Restaurant Review:

This trendy SoHo branch of the friendly family-run Penang restaurant chain is always packed, but it's worth the crowd. Malaysian cuisine is a treat since it combines many Asian influences. For an appetizer, try the roti canai (a crispy Indian-style pancake), poh-piah (steamed Malaysian spring rolls stuffed with jícama) or sotong goring (marinated golden-friend squid). Entrée standouts include beef marinated in tamarind and slowly simmered in a coconut-milk broth; and fried turnip rolls with spicy sauce.
