Pepe's & Mito's has been going strong in Deep Ellum for well over a decade, and the move from a converted gas station to a larger venue down the street hasn't hurt a bit. If anything, the place is even better. All the usual Tex-Mex favorites are on the menu, along with some more authentic Mexican dishes and some new-style creations that blend it all. Try its take on traditional albondigas soup, which features little meat-filled omelets floating in a hearty broth with chunks of fresh vegetables. Enchiladas rule, with the spinach version covered in a luscious cream sauce instead of the white glop found at too many places, and the chicken enchiladas bathed in an inspired sauce of chipotles and wine. Wash it all down with a frozen margarita and your day is made.
