Chef Mike Isabella zeroes in on Tex-Mex cuisine and loads of tequilas and rum drinks at his tiny Pepita Cantina. In fact, booze in all shapes and colors take the stage, and is illuminated in the large glass window with its bottle-laden shelves. Of course, food is available from a limited menu, and patrons can enjoy such Isabella-inspired fare as ceviche, guacamole, chicharrones, carnitas or smoked avocado tacos, and sumptuous tortas. The standout offering is the filling barbecued lamb sandwich stuffed with cucumbers, chiles and crema. If you have a sweets craving, consider the tres leches cake and fruit and rum ice pops. You may come to this Arlington restaurant to eat and sip cocktails; you may also get a glimpse of Isabella.
