| Periyali is comprised of several small rooms that make up the dining area, each attractive and simple with white walls, tiled floor, dark beams and a tented ceiling of billowing white cloth. Many of the dishes have Greek names but translate into straightforward charcoal-grilled items, such as the grilled octopus and rosemary-scented lamb chops. Other favorites: the spanakopita, the grilled whole sea bass doused with good olive oil, the hearty moussaka and even sweetbreads served with large white beans; and, for dessert, the rice pudding. The wine list features a page of increasingly-popular Greek wines along with a satisfying selection of French, Italian and American offerings. |
