Pescatore Restaurant Review:

Colorful tile covers the outside of this neighborhood fish spot, which offers value for well-turned-out dishes. That's why Pescatore, a casual restaurant with two separate dining rooms, is always packed. We prefer the smaller eating space with peach walls and matching tiled floors. During warm weather you can dine outside on a balcony overlooking the hustle and noisy bustle of Second Avenue. Begin with the sautéed Spanish octopus or a Forest Hills pizzetta with roasted forest mushrooms, green onions and truffle oil. If you want a little drama, go for the whole fish, which will be deboned tableside --- we like the grilled salmon and the grilled bronzino. Pescatore makes its own pastas, including fettuccine with lobster, leeks, fresh tomato and basil in grappa cream sauce; and linguine nero, a black linguine with shrimp. For dessert, order the silky sorbets in flavors of peach, tangerine, coconut or pineapple presented in their natural shells.
