Petite Abeille Restaurant Review:
This outpost of Belgian restaurant Petite Abeille complements the other three in town (Gramercy Park, TriBeCa, Greenwich Village). There is a pastry counter in the front followed by the dining areas and a backyard patio that is guaranteed to be a draw in warm weather. Blue and white checked tablecloths bring a cheery feel, as do decorative nods to “The Adventures of Tintin,” the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. The menu draws on the same basics as the other locations: brews, stews and buckets of fresh mussels. Hearty sausages with stoemp (a sweet potato-and-vegetable purée), burgers and steaks are also offered. Breakfast and brunch feature omelets and sugary Belgian waffles. Hot Belgian chocolate is another indulgence to consider. The short wine list focuses on France and California, and there's a selection of Belgian beers on draft and by the bottle. Catering is also available. Other locations.
