THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Phamish Restaurant Review:

One of the tastiest sandwiches on earth has got to be the Vietnamese banh mi, but getting a really good one has usually meant heading to Little Saigon in the OC or out to Rosemead. The Phamish truck (oh, we love that name too) brings this delectable and authentic Vietnamese nosh to the streets of LA, along with its other beloved national dish, the rice noodle soup called pho. The tag “Vietnamese home cooking” rings true with pho that is savory yet fresh, though rather shockingly priced at $8 compared to the many ubiquitous mall versions you can get for half that. However, we rate the banh mi tops---with our favorite being the grilled lemon grass pork, tender and well proportioned with crunchy pickled daikon and carrots, fresh cilantro and jalapeños, and just a flourish of garlic mayo on a crusty baguette. Also, look for fresh spring rolls with lemon grass chicken or tofu, bracing Vietnamese iced coffee, and signature house-made mint lemon soda.
