THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Phillips Harborplace Restaurant Review: It began in 1956 with a small carryout in Ocean City, Maryland. But small is no longer the operative word for any aspect of Phillips. The restaurants, now forming a chain with outlets up and down the Atlantic coast, are noteworthy seafood places. Often portions are huge and the patrons, numbering many. The menu centers on traditional seafood dishes, like crab cakes, grilled Atlantic salmon, fried shrimp and Maine lobster. The seafood is fresh, and the cooking, basic. While there may be few frills, you can count on enjoying typical seafood preparation with a few meat- or chicken-based entrées thrown in for good measure.
