At lunchtime, Phillips Seafood Grill has become a must for dealmakers, who want the luxuries of a club atmosphere---dark greens, dark woods, heavy chandeliers and unobtrusive service---without the hassle of downtown traffic. An alfresco patio and a snazzy bar are additional pluses, too. A still-hot sourdough mini loaf arrives at your table as a preamble to an appetizer, like the smooth, herb-spattered lobster bisque. More offbeat fare includes Thai mussels and popcorn shrimp. Crab cakes play big here, even in lunchtime sandwiches, but the crunchy blackened catfish is excellent, too. Other entrées include steak, chicken, and pasta selections, plus plenty of fresh-catch options. Don’t run off before checking the dessert tray: The cheesecake or chocolate cake should hit the spot.
