| The neighborhood feud has ended and Phil's BBQ is back---better than ever. With high-powered ventilators reducing the smoky, fragrant smell that caused all the fuss (much to San Diego barbecue fans' chagrin), the former hole-in-the-wall walk-up has reopened for business, with two extra dining rooms to boot. Nothing beats the brougham sandwich---tender shredded pork sauced with Phil's award-winning potion, served on an onion bun and topped with creamy coleslaw. Order up some baked beans, corn-on-the-cob and hand-cut fries and you will be in hog heaven. Ribs, barbecued chicken, batter-dipped onion rings and char-grilled beef also make the grade. This place is a San Diego institution and has become a definite must when visiting. |
