A cocktail-centric venue with a limited menu on Beverly Hills' Restaurant Row.
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS The Phoenix Restaurant Review:
This oft-recycled Restaurant Row space has been reborn as The Phoenix, an unstuffy cocktail-centric concept from entrepreneur Adolfo Suaya. Specialty cocktails include the Pegu Club made with Gordon's London Dry Gin, Grand Marnier, lime juice and bitters. In addition, there are craft beers and a small, attractively priced menu with the likes of seared ahi tacos, a fried chicken sandwich and the house’s signature steak frites in mustard sauce. In terms of décor, the wood-clad accordion ceiling adds a rustic-modernist aesthetic to the laid-back scene. The bar is rough-hewn wood and there’s a nice patio, too, where happy hour reflects the kind of prices usually foreign to Beverly Hills.
