Anthonino's Taverna Restaurant Review:

The Hill has a reputation as being focused on Italian neighborhood joints, but its dining options have expanded to include restaurants that offer food from around the Mediterranean Sea. This friendly corner spot is a case in point---it blends Italian and Greek, with highlights that include topnotch gyros and caponata with eggplant and peppers in a spicy dressing. The Sicilian background shows with the addition of pine nuts and raisins, traces of the Moorish influence of past millennia. There are even forays farther east with offerings of baba ghanouj and hummus. The pizzas creatively meld all the menu’s influences; the pastas are thoroughly St. Louis-style Italian. It's an old tavern with big front windows, dashingly modern light fixtures and a crowd that mixes casual business lunches with guys from the neighborhood catching up on last night's Cardinals game.
