Club Lago Restaurant Review:
Club Lago (open since 1952) remains the institution it's always been in the heart of River North. You'll find many regulars bellying up to the bar for pours from the gallon jugs of wine, while others go straight for large portions of classic Italian-American dishes in the dining room. Nothing fancy, no-frills, just good, inexpensive eating: minestrone soup, spaghetti and meatballs, baked clams, calamari, chicken tetrazzini, eggplant Parmigiana. Sandwich-centric lunch specials are a particularly good deal, especially given the restaurant’s penchant for big portions, so load up on a salami panino.
