Curry Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Once home to cafés and pizza-by-the-slice places, the narrow space on ever-changing West 8th Street may have found a more permanent resident. Meet Curry Kitchen, an Indian restaurant that serves up relatively standard but above-average fare. Anyone with a hankering for some subcontinental sustenance will enjoy the creamy saag paneer or the spicy marinated lamb chops. There are a few surprises, like the lamb rogan josh, tender chunks of meat in cardamom; and the kachori, which is listed on the menu as “too hard to describe but recommended.” So we’ll take a stab at it: a flavor strata of potatoes stuffed with lentils and peas and a mélange of sauces. And yes, we recommend it too.
