Harvest Moon Cafe Restaurant Review:

Harvest Moon seems a bit humble on the outside, but husband-and-wife chef team Jen and Nick Demarest have serious credentials that include stints at Chez Panisse and La Toque. The menu changes daily, reflecting Nick's creativity and what's fresh at the market. If available, try the Monterey Bay sardines and potatoes and a salsa verde kick; kampachi crudo with fennel and mint; house-made lamb ravioli in caramelized onion broth; or simple grilled pork chop and radicchio. Desserts from Jen’s deft hand include bittersweet chocolate pot de crème with a cocoa nib cookie, and a gingersnap and lemon ice cream sandwich. The somewhat awkward space can get noisy, but the best seat in the house is kitchen-side at the grill, where Nick chats easily about what's on the evening’s menu. On sunny days, opt for the spacious hidden patio. Wine labels focus on Napa and Sonoma interspersed with a few West European gems.
