Le Singe Vert Restaurant Review:

This friendly French restaurant in the heart of Chelsea, complete with sidewalk seating, offers a wonderful way to people-watch while savoring the bistro fare such as the classic croque monsieur, steak tartare, escargots and steak frites. A tasty alternative to typical white wine-doused mussels are the creamy moules au Ricard, a dish brimming with steamed mussels, shallots, garlic, Ricard, and, of course, cream. Perennial favorites include the roasted beet salad with string beans, Roquefort cheese, walnuts and mâche or the succulent roasted duck breast over wild rice and vegetables, covered with orange sauce. An assortment of desserts and a steaming cup of rich American coffee cap the experience. It can get a bit loud and tables are cozy, but at least the service is efficient. In addition to a full bar, the wine list boasts several topnotch but moderately priced French wines that make a good pairing for the wide range of beef, fresh seafood and salads.
