Rotier's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Rotier's showcases a décor that harks back to 1945, the year of the restaurant’s founding, and the food is sometimes served with sass, but that’s part of the deal. Family matriarch, the late Evelyn Rotier --- known as Mama Rotier or Miz Rotier to devoted customers --- and her late husband, John, opened the place when burgers were 25 cents, soft drinks a nickel and beer a quarter. The grilled cheeseburger remains one of Nashville's most consistent menu stars. And though there's a meat and three menu, regulars often come for the burgers. The milkshake isn’t on the menu, and you must order it if you’re seeking sweet frosty bliss. It comes in three flavors --- vanilla, chocolate and strawberry --- and two sizes, 14-ounce and 28-ounce. There are loads of beers, including local craft brews, but no wines. Daughter Margaret carries the family flame at the restaurant.
