Serrano Restaurant Review:

A fixture on the Philadelphia restaurant scene since 1985, Serrano, with its upstairs acoustic café, the Tin Angel, attracts an artsy neighborhood crowd to its colorful boho setting. At the lower level, the long, narrow room boasts a time-etched wooden bar on the left and a fireplace to the right. Either crystal chandeliers or colored-glass Indian lamps hang from the ornate ceiling. The lights are low, but the mood is so relaxed that crayons and paper are given to kids at each table. A diverse menu keeps it simple with steak frites and soft homemade gnocchi with butternut squash ragù, along with a very respectable meatloaf doused in brown gravy.
