Town Hall Restaurant Review:

This neighborhood bar-restaurant could lay claim to being DC’s “Cheers.” A locals’ destination, it offers a surprisingly sophisticated menu that belies its booze-worthy façade. Indeed, our only regret is that it’s hard to enjoy an entire menu’s worth of food in one seating. How can you turn down a carne asada salad with fresh corn kernels in favor of a shepherd’s pie made with Guinness stout? Or build a meal without including an appetizer of baked Brie with an almond crust and an accent of boysenberry jam? Rib-eye with Gorgonzola? Desserts add up to many calories, but why not splurge on bread pudding with Maker’s Mark caramel? It all comes with a price, but the cooking is so good, and the atmosphere so clubby, that you won’t mind what the tab says in the end. Service is crisp and friendly, and the overhead TV above the bar not really intrusive.
