Warren Tavern Restaurant Review:

The oldest watering hole in Massachusetts --- it opened in 1780 --- Warren Tavern exudes Colonial charm, with its low-ceiling beamed timbers, wide plank floors and dimly lit wall sconces. Stopping by for a beer can be a soul-warming experience. You can almost envision George Washington or Paul Revere enjoying a pint or two. But the magic of the classic ambience doesn't rub off on the food, which tries too hard to be all things to all people. Take, for instance, Thai chicken lettuce wraps, fish tacos and Carolina pulled pork sliders, not to mention a Caribbean chicken club. We recommend sticking to the basics: juicy burgers, crispy fish ‘n’ chips, or the hot Plymouth Plantation sandwich filled with roast turkey, stuffing and cranberry on toast served with a side of mayo or gravy. While the food is basic at best, it's worth the price of a mediocre burger just to drink in the atmosphere.
