THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Wooden Table Restaurant Review:

By all accounts and purposes, the suburbs of Denver aren't exactly renowned for their culinary prowess, but The Wooden Table, a contemporary Italian restaurant in Greenwood Village, just south of the city, is more than worth the trek. Chef Brett Shaheen, who spent several years cooking alongside Denver chef Frank Bonanno, is a toque who’s turning out dishes that leave you wanting for more. His approach to food is confident and steadfast, and it pairs well with the setting, a simple, streamlined space that, not surprisingly, is furbished with hand-crafted wooden tables, black-and-white photos and white linens. Shaheen’s focused menu exposes vibrant salads with seasonal ingredients, notable house-made pastas---we like the ravioli---and entrées like the Berkshire pork tenderloin, sliced, fanned, and served with apple and ham hock bread pudding that deserves its own special place in culinary utopia. The wine list won't win any awards, but it's a decent (and ever-evolving) roster of mostly Italian bottlings that won't cause your wallet to combust.
