Yuca Bar Restaurant Review:

Globalization is a good thing at this casual, mod spot. On his pan-Latin menu, executive chef Ricardo Cardona (ex-Jimmy's Bronx Café, Sabor and DR-K) represents more Spanish-speaking countries than the Americas summit. A nicely layered tuna ceviche, for example, served in a coconut and garnished with red onion, jalapeños, lime, ginger and toasted coconut shavings is Peru's delegate, while cangrejo yuca crab cake topped with roasted corn salsa and capers is a spin on the Venezuelan arepa. Other quality courses include taquitos de camaron: sautéed shrimp in a soft tortilla topped with cheese, corn salsa, guacamole and sour cream; grilled mahi mahi tacos with avocado-tomatillo salsa; and fried calamari with two dipping sauces. Even desserts, like the light, sugary churros with dulce de leche, chocolate and guava dipping sauces, make this a world conference worth revisiting.
