Piazza Italia Restaurant Review: Piazza Italia’s food is straightforward and authentic. Several TV’s are perpetually tuned to Italian news and soccer channels, and a musician circulates often, playing and singing traditional Italian tunes and opera. Pasta is the dish to order, especially the bucantini all Amatriciana; the linguine squarciarella (a combination of egg, prosciutto, onion, Parmesan and black pepper); or the pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar). Start with an insalata caprese or the insalata bresaola (arugula with dry-cured beef). House-made gelato will make you say "bene" more than once. A brief but reputable wine list adds to the pleasures. On a summer evening, the front sidewalk tables provide a fine spot to linger, and there are several imported Italian items to take home. A meal at this ultra-friendly spot will put anyone in a good mood.
