| A no-frills place with a no-frills name that says it all, this eatery has a strong following from nearby Cal Tech. Sit yourself down at the fountain-type counter---or settle into one of the few available tables---and order a juicy old-school burger with a side of fries and a slice of pie. At breakfast, try the homemade cinnamon and pecan rolls or an omelet. Of the two dozen types of house-made pies, we recommend Pie ’n Burger’s pecan pie, and other favorites include boysenberry, cherry, pumpkin and even peanut butter. Our biggest complaint here is the house-mixed generic cola, which is almost always flat. The décor and prices are both classic. |
