Back in 1943, the business of serving pizza took a giant leap forward. Not surprisingly, just about every celebrity---from rock star to movie star to Brenda Starr (well, maybe her creator)---stops here, or at its sib a block away, when visiting Chicago. There’s good reason: this is a well-constructed pizza, from the crust to the toppings. The dough is delish, the cheese is gooey-good, the toppings are fresh, and the sauce is punchily seasoned. Deep-dish pies don't get much better, and in this setting---which is pure Chicago pizzeria, from the checkered tablecloths to the snappy waitstaff----pizza never tasted so good. There are a few seasonal items thrown into the mix, too, so feel free to switch things up with the likes of fig, goat cheese and broccoli ’za. You may have to wait to get a table, but it's worth it.
