Pizzology Pizzeria & Pub Restaurant Review: Handcrafted pizzas and much more draw the crowds to this neighborhood spot. Chef-owner Neal Brown elevates the science of pizza-making, and pairs the main event with such starters as risotto laced with wood-roasted mushrooms and Brussels sprouts, and crispy polenta with sautéed spinach and mushroom ragù. Pizzas are composed with the likes of house-made porchetta, mortadella and pepperoni with fresh arugula salad on top. Of course, there are the standard sausage and fresh mozzarella pies that are much more than routine, as are the sauce-less versions, like one with roasted squash, fennel sausage, caramelized onions and a sprinkle of fresh oregano. The limited pasta selections range from spaghetti and meatballs to penne with artichokes, roasted tomatoes and seasoned olives. Tiramisu is house-made, but perhaps consider the zeppole sweetened with honey. Finish the meal with an Italian coffee or relax with a local brew and soak in the chic atmosphere. |
