| Very retro here, but very stylish as well. The décor is all polished wood-panelled walls while the decoration is all to do with polo (the owner is a player himself). It feels very East Coast of the U.S. It's smart and fun, with a menu that doesn't challenge but just delivers the goods. In this case, the goods are oysters, pastas, salads and steaks and good they are too. But a primary draw is Sunday brunch, when huge quantities of Bloody Marys are mixed and eggs Benedict and the like reign supreme. Also at 30 Wellington St., WC2, 020-7240 7529. |
