Planet Thailand was one of the first destination restaurants for underfed hipsters and their hangers-on in the heart of Williamsburg. Just off a stretch of Bedford Street that’s busy late into the night---every night---this space-age diner has been filling local bellies for quite a few years now. Almost always loud---there’s a DJ on weekends---and crowded, Planet Thailand serves decent Thai standards: pad thai, spicy basil beef, crunchy papaya salad and whole fish in sweet-and-sour tamarind sauce. Be prepared to cool your heels waiting for a table.
