THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Plantation House Restaurant Review:

This Hawaiian-inspired restaurant trades the pristine beach of the islands for the rolling vineyards of Temecula. Sitting on the lanai takes full advantage of the wine country setting, while the laid-back dining room features a prominent stone fireplace, ceiling fans and flower-topped tables. Considering Temecula’s evolution into one of the Inland Empire’s better dining destinations, we are disappointed with our experience at The Plantation House. The Kona blue crab cakes drizzled with pineapple beurre blanc is a generously portioned but blandly seasoned dish; start with the tartlette of wild mushrooms and sweet onions in garlic sauce instead. Among entrées, the sesame-crusted ahi with citrus ponzu is simple and well-conceived, but the tuna may not be of acceptable quality. Ambitious dishes such as roasted pork with brandied pear-cream sauce and beef Wellington round out a menu that is rather pricy for the ambience and proficiency of the kitchen. The macadamia-crusted cheesecake delivers a pleasant taste of aloha to finish off the visit. A Friday night Luau Beach Party offers a variety of Hawaiian-style entrées, tropical sangría and Lappert’s Hawaiian ice cream.
