THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pleasant Storage Room Restaurant Review

: Located in the heart of the downtown warehouse district, this bar and restaurant has a loyal following of locals who want a little something different. A bona fide rum bar, with drinks to tempt even the non-drinker, Pleasant Storage Room is the perfect antidote to Austin's Tex-Mex and farm-to-table movement. You can get a Cuban slider served just as it would be in Havana, or you can try the citrus-spiked snapper ceviche. Island tastes can also be found in appetizers like the conch hushpuppies or chicharron de pollo. For a main dish reminiscent of the Caribbean, don't miss the Trinidad pork. It all arrives in rough brown paper containers that add to the overall idea of island street food. But it's the drinks that really make you remember the name: The Old Cuban and the rum punch are first-rate, but be adventurous and go for the GoldenEye. The place is named for the Havana venue that lured artists like Hemingway, and it’s a refuge from the other trendy spots in the area.
