| Plum Tree has a lighthearted charm, with its ample outdoor seating and large indoor dining room. In an otherwise spare setting, somewhat kitschy red lanterns hang from the white-tiled ceiling, and the windows surrounded in brick-red faintly recall a traditional Japanese country home. Try the house special tuna loti, seared spicy tuna wrapped in a pancake. The sushi menu includes the standard selection of rolls, including the signature Plum Tree roll, with yellowtail, tuna and eel topped with red, green and yellow tobiko. Or share the shabu-shabu for two, tender, thin-sliced beef, vegetables and noodles cooked in a boiling broth, served with a variety of dipping sauces and salad for a Japanese take on your traditional hot pot experience. Desserts like the fire snowballs, green tea, ginger or cookie dough ice cream, set aflame, and the banana tempura with ginger ice cream, make a satisfying end to the meal. |
