| Pollo Al Carbon is one of those unexpected destinations that make DC dining so interesting. Located next to a metro stop and painted fire-engine red, this Latin American place offers an array of hearty eats, from arepas (Venezuelan-style corn cakes) and charcoal-grilled chicken and beef to tacos with assorted fillings. Breakfast here on Sundays and holidays means you can order an “endless” meal (we didn’t ask about refills) that consists of a Peruvian potato soup, handmade corn tortillas, arepas, scrambled eggs, shredded beef, thick cream, beans and grilled plantains. If you wait a few hours, the “endless” dinner menu commences with heftier, heartier entrées such as skewered beef and chicken. |
