THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pomaire Restaurant Review:

Who’d have thought the Theater District would be home to one of Manhattan’s most authentic Chilean eateries? Yet here it is. Sitting at the west end of Restaurant Row, cozy Pomaire offers empanadas, ceviches and all kinds of Chilean seafood and beef that you’ll immediately recognize if you’ve spent any time in that country. Two standouts are the intriguing pastel de choclo, a traditional Chilean specialty casserole made with sweet corn, hard boiled eggs, olives, raisins and seasoned beef; and camaron pil pil, an appetizer of shrimp swimming in a garlicky, spicy oil. Service is warm and friendly and they certainly know how to do pisco right, and their take on a mojito, the Robinson Crusoe, named after the island off the Chilean coast, will make you forget you ever liked a rum drink. To cap off the meal, try the homemade brandy digestif, a lovely potion of herbs and pisco.
