 Stepping into Porta Via is like walking into a New York bistro that we are drawn to for the cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Owner Peter Garland likes to personally greet his clientele, making you feel like a friend. The sunny Italian cuisine adds to the homey feeling of the restaurant. Regulars (which are a good sign) like the crab cakes, the fried calamari or the beet salad for appetizers. The chef offers a selection of pasta unless you decide to choose an entrée that can be a Parmigiano-crusted halibut, sesame-seared tuna, a chicken paillard or a grilled rib-eye. The lunch menu offers a selection of sandwiches (vegetarian, prosciutto, etc.). Because of its location in the heart of Beverly Hills, the restaurant fills up at breakfast with power people. Last but not least, the bar occupying a large part of the space is the stage for tasting the interesting wine cellar containing a selection of boutique wines. Friendly service.
