 Housed in a cosmopolitan, often-overlooked hotel, Porter’s promotes its USDA Prime steaks, but the menu offers much more. After a blue crab cake with mango chutney or classics like shrimp cocktail or iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing, consider an eight-ounce filet mignon with Pinot Noir sauce or pine nut-crusted rack of lamb with mango-mint relish. A full-bodied red from a serviceable list can be paired at a reasonable price. The menu is more diverse than most steakhouses, and seafood---items like crispy-skinned salmon with forbidden rice and strawberry relish, or halibut in a bouillabaisse-inspired sauce---should not be disregarded. We have been pleased with the attentive, professional service here, and considering the stratospheric prices at some top steakhouses, Porter’s is a very good value.
