THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW A PRIVATE EVENT SPACE Postrio Cafe & Bar Restaurant Review:

Though Postrio is no longer Wolfgang Puck's San Francisco outpost, it continues to accommodate diners in the Union Square area for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The bar and café are situated on the first level, and there’s a dining area on the mezzanine. Descend down a sweeping central staircase to enjoy breakfast in the main dining room, which also hosts private events. Chef Michael Reining does his best to keep the Postrio name alive and well. Old-school standards such as tuna tartare are prepared tableside, and artisanal pizzas remain a focal point of the menu. Unfortunately, presentation is lacking. A tasty prosciutto, fig and mascarpone pizza comes with the ingredients messily piled on top. Oven-roasted salmon is first-rate in terms of flavor, but was unattractive on the plate. Desserts could also use some work --- the burnt sugar on a crème brûlée was soggy. The former Postrio's extensive wine list seems somewhat out of step with the more casual fare now offered. On Wednesday nights the restaurant hosts a “pizza party” and offers special prices on pizzas and appetizers.
