Preet Palace Restaurant Review: For those who seek Indian cooking that is not stripped bare of its multiple nuances, Preet Palace in Northern Virginia will be a real joy. We applaud the chef's approach to his curries, all of which are distinctively seasoned and served in abundant portions. The lamb vindaloo bears its authentic layers of heat, while the butter chicken has a much softer and gentler tang. Breads are flavorful---your best bet is to order the sampler basket---and you may be hard pressed to select a favorite. Even the tandooried kebabs rate high marks--- elsewhere these are often overcooked and dried out. And if you want to launch your feast with some authentic tastes of India, ask for a sampler platter of appetizers, which will give you a good range of flavors and textures. It seems the local Indian community has also discovered the joys of Preet Palace; you might be lucky enough to witness a full-fledged Indian birthday celebration, saris and all.
