Prego Ristorante Restaurant Review:

Around the corner from Polanco’s hotel zone, Prego is an attractive (if somewhat generic-looking) neighborhood option for solid---often quite good---Italian fare, especially for pasta-lovers. The Caesar salad is fairly skimpy despite its hefty price tag; however, its tableside presentation is a fun bit of showmanship and the homemade dressing is a rich blend of flavors. Fettuccine with grilled shrimp in a creamy saffron sauce is a winner, with its homemade pasta cooked just al dente. The menu also offers traditional faves like lasagna and spaghetti bolognese; daily specials combine more daring ingredients in less familiar recipes. Carnivores go for the hefty osso buco and there’s well prepared seafood for the healthy-conscious diner. The above-average selection of wines is priced below average---a nice bonus.
