Great Wine List* Click here for rating key
Leslie Rudd is well known in wine country, not only as a winery owner and philanthropist, but also for having purchased the epicurean Mecca Dean & DeLuca. Utilizing the property on the main thoroughfare adjacent to his gourmet grocery store is Press, a farmhouse-style building with vaulted ceilings and lean, modern furnishings. While many wine country restaurants boast local produce on their menus, Press touts specialized ingredients from all over the country including Pennsylvania Dutch milk-fed veal, Berkridge Farms Heritage Pork from Iowa, or Maine-caught Jonah crab, all prepared in a custom wood-burning oven or rotisserie. The wine list includes cult favorites as well as small-production, up-and-coming producers. You may experience a bit of sticker shock with entrées like a $99 32-ounce dry-aged porterhouse, or the more frugal 24-ounce bone-in rib-eye for $49. Guests are encouraged to share these larger offerings, many of which are finished tableside. |
