THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Primehouse NY Restaurant Review:
If a steakhouse can claim to have its own Himalayan Salt Room, it’s probably not the place to toss your peanuts on the floor. Case in point: PrimeHouse NY, a sleekly stylish steakhouse that exudes enough elegance to deem it worthy of its Park Avenue South address. A corner location allows plenty of light to filter into the space, gleaming off the shiny black and white color scheme. The casual business crowds who dine here come to nosh on the hand-selected Prime Black Angus beef---from Kentucky---that’s aged on premise in the aforementioned Himalayan Salt Room. There are the reserve 20-ounce rib-eye cuts that are aged between 40 and 65 days or the lightly aged 12-ounce petite P.A.S. filet. Sides include the usual creamed spinach or roasted garlic whipped potatoes but go upscale with the truffle Asiago fries. Before hitting the meat, start with a tasty appetizer, the littleneck clam bake with lemon, garlic and fresh herbs. Of course, this is the place to come for steak, but if your companion feels the need for lighter fare, there’s a choice selection of other meats or seafood. On busy nights, the comfortable bar and lounge area is a good place to sip a cocktail. Outdoor seating is available during pleasant weather.
