This hidden spot in industrial Southeast Portland has long been a destination for a burger and a beer (more than two dozen brews are on tap). An expanded menu provides a more diverse array of food choices, including a silken tofu, peanuts, celery, pear and radicchio salad; and roasted cauliflower with lentils, eggplant purée and shaved fennel. Traditionalists may prefer fried chicken, the signature burger or the flank steak sandwich topped with horseradish aïoli. The full bar boasts a fun cocktail list, plus a wide range of beer and whiskey pairings. You may also order the “Round Trip,” eight beer samples for $18. This is an ideal place to meet a group for drinks on the regular movie nights or for thematic DJ events. A late-night menu features such treats as a pork belly banh mi and beer-battered french fries.
