| This downtown location is the most distinguished of the Purple Cafés, with its soaring ceilings, huge bar, dining zones and an intimate lounge, plus a wine and tapas bar. A two-story spiral tower of wine, a monument to Purple’s pride in pairing wine with food, holds center place. The sophisticated yet unpretentious menu is extensive and easy to mix and match whether you want a few nibbles or an elegant four-course dinner. Choose from mini appetizers ranging from Chardonnay-steamed Manila clams to grilled hanger steak, plus a selection of wine and cheese pairings. Or choose among soups, sandwiches and salads. In the mood for pasta? We recommend the lobster mac ‘n’ cheese or smoked salmon ravioli with shaved red onion, capers and lemon cream. For more substantial entrées, try the porcini-crusted ahi or the grilled jumbo Gulf prawns. "Sweet Bites” such as a goat cheese pot de crème or pumpkin crème brûlée add a delightful finish. Purple’s extensive wine list focuses primarily on Northwest selections. Pleasant, well-trained servers are happy to answer questions and help you choose the right pairings. |
