Quinn's Almost by the Sea Restaurant Review: Don't let first impressions fool you: located across the street from the King Kamehameha Hotel, Quinn's really is not on the sea, and has a small, crowded bar, usually populated by local fishing-boat captains swigging beer and watching the game on the overhead TV. It can get rowdy there. But behind the bar, nearly hidden in the back, is a covered open-air lanai where some of the most dependable, inexpensive meals in Kona are served. Choose the daily fresh fish prepared in various ways, irresistible sashimi, a good burger (try the teriyaki pineapple) or a steak sandwich. Don't forget the fried onion rings. Salads and low-calorie plates are also available. |
