| This is one of the city's longest-lived vegetarian establishments, combining grocery store, supplement supply house, and a deli that provides a hot bar with vegetarian options. You may dine at a table or cover your selection and take it home. Polenta Florentine combines yellow cornmeal grits with cheese and spinach to a rewarding effect. Try the baked spaghetti, with "Go Lean" textured soy protein doing a rather reasonable stand-in for meat. In addition to the regular hot dishes bar, you'll find freshly made sandwiches and smoothies. In the chill case are sandwiches on whole-wheat bread (we defy you to find a better chicken salad), plus small containers of salads and side items. No alcohol is served. |
