Raku Restaurant is one of GAYOT's 2013
Hot 10 Central Coast (CA) Restaurants|
Raku Restaurant Review: Raku’s stylish design gives it a sleek, big-city feel. Traditional sushi items such as yellowtail sashimi and spicy tuna roll are spot-on, but our favorites are the renkon kinpira (a fried lotus root appetizer) and the more creative specialty rolls, like the no-rice “Geisha” roll with crab and salmon and the “Holy Moly” with salmon, tuna and mango wrapped in pink soy paper. Among the yakitori skewers, it’s hard to go wrong with “pork toro” --- aka pork belly --- and any of the generous ramen bowls are a hearty meal in themselves. If you have room for dessert, try the green tea crème brûlée. Draft and bottled beer, soju and wine are available. Note that Raku closes during the late afternoon hours until dinnertime. |
