Everyone deeply mourned the St. Paul Table of Contents when it closed. The restaurant that was to take its place would have to be something truly special to fill the void in the hearts of the neighborhood. Well, Red Fish Blue is almost there! The seafood diner has a sassy, fun atmosphere complete with colorful fish and people chatting it up as they wait for their table. The servers are fun and quirky and seem to love what they're doing. But the menu has a hit or miss quality that we're sure will be ironed out in the coming months. The hints of brilliance are there in the snapper with a citrus kick, or the oh-my-god cherry bomb dessert, basically a chocolate globe filled with cherry ice cream. Another shimmer of greatness is seen in the wine list, and Red Fish Blue fills the area's need for a wine bar well. Knowing that the Table of Contents crew is behind Red Fish Blue gives us hope and the knowledge that all they need is a little time.
