The ultrahip restaurants don’t use capital letters in their names, and that’s the case for this corner spot near CBS. It’s always abuzz with 20-something hipsters and mogul wannabe’s, schmoozing, sipping megamartinis and chowing down on food that’s a lot better than it needs to be for this crowd. At lunch we crave the portobello mushroom, roasted pepper and fresh mozzarella cheese sandwich. At night, we look beyond the turkey burger and meatloaf to the sea bass with mango-chutney sauce or the filet mignon with tricolor peppercorn sauce. The service is friendly but distracted. The color scheme of the décor at red may be red, but the color most guests wear is black.
