This retro bar, housed in a former auto repair shop, would not be out of place in a trendy section of Manhattan. The walls are lined with padded red vinyl; the concrete floor remains; and three large garage doors roll up in good weather to make virtually the entire space al fresco. The cocktails are expertly mixed and include one of Louisville's finest Old Fashioneds (the bourbon-based drink invented at one of the city's private clubs in the nineteenth century). There's a wine-by-the-glass and craft beer list, too. Stand-bys on the casual but excellent menu include a juicy burger, a thick BLT on crusty bread and ribs served with white bean ragoût and jalapeño slaw.
