Chef-owner Christine Brown has developed an enthusiastic following with her homey establishment on the edge of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Two levels are bathed in persimmon with green accents, offering linen-clad tables with a view of an open kitchen and reproductions of impressionist art. The scene is lively and inviting, and a latticed patio provides a touch of romance. Brown's Pacific Rim cooking has Mediterranean influences that are reflected in appetizers such as the Thai-glazed crawfish-and-avocado tower and a loaded meze platter that might include such treats as a long-stemmed artichoke, anchovy-stuffed olives, fig chutney and artisan cheeses. Entrées range from prosciutto-wrapped filet mignon to sesame-glazed salmon in carrot-ginger sauce. These well-executed, aesthetically presented dishes served by a friendly staff contribute to a satisfying dining experience.
