Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch Restaurant Review

: Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch is a training ground for Cal Poly Pomona’s hospitality management students. Starters for the three-course prix-fixe dinners include the likes of seasonal pâté, quail and frisée salad with pistachio vinaigrette, and cauliflower cream soup dressed up with domestic caviar. For main courses, you can expect anything from coq au vin to lemon-crusted loup de mer with Pernod sauce, and for dessert, pot de crème and profiteroles filled with Dr. Bob’s ice cream, and Inland Empire cult favorite. A mostly California wine list features some first-rate values. Sustainable ingredients are emphasized, and the restaurant works with the university’s agriculture students on a one-acre culinary garden. Both the front and back of the house are operated by students. That can mean occasional glitches, but the service is warm and welcoming. The dining room is handsome, albeit a bit institutional looking.
